Hogwarts Legacy is marked as one of the most phenomenal takes on the universe created by J.K. Rowling. In the past, several Harry Potter films have made their home in the hearts of millions, and it was high time until a game of equal quality and faithfulness to the source material came to light.
A recent look at the developers’ job openings page has given us some information about the future of this franchise. Or, perhaps a new IP altogether? Whichever seems to be the case, it looks like Avalanche Software is looking for some talented folks to join the team for what’s next.
The studio is looking for a Lead/Advanced Technical Artist
The official page showcases a job listing for a Lead/Advanced Technical Artist, who will be responsible for working on the studio’s next AAA title.
Essentially, Technical Artists hold the key power to combining innovative storytelling with all things technical (game engine and code). In the words of Avalanche:
We are looking for a Lead/Advanced Technical Artist with strong Unreal and Python/C++ experience to join our Salt Lake City studio. You will be part of a versatile tech-art team working with the latest technology developing a high-profile AAA title.
There’s no disclosed information on whether or not this truly is the sequel to the revered Hogwarts Legacy, but speculations suggest that it will likely continue the tales and stories uncovered in the last game.
Moreover, this is a high-profile job which means serious business when it comes to starting a new project. There’s a chance that this can also be a spin-off title that tells its own tales, but with a bunch of new gameplay elements and mechanics that take the team’s creativity to new heights.
The job opening also shares ‘guidelines’ that will go into the conceptualization of Hogwarts Legacy’s sequel
As robust as the job listing is, it ends with a keynote on how the studio leads its creativity. More importantly, how these creative ideas are shaped through some important philosophies. This often becomes an important part of the creative process, and lets you predict what kind of predictions you can make with regards to the game’s direction.
The studio has a separate page for this one, which highlights some things that candidates should keep in mind when applying for the role:
Foster creativity by giving the freedom to try new things and produce our best work. Deliver the best experience; anticipate what consumers want and be fan obsessed.
Given the detailed and rich world of Hogwarts Legacy, it’s no surprise to see the team’s leading efforts put into creating yet another world that gives players the experience of a lifetime. Although, we’ll have to wait and watch how this journey unfolds.
