Since the release of the original science fiction action flick in the beloved Transformers franchise, its film series has always managed to leave its fans entertained, and its sequels have shattered records at the box office by grossing huge numbers with each project. The Director and producer Michael Bay successfully directed the first five-film series: Transformers, which was released in 2007, followed by action-packed sequels, Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Dark of the Moon (2011), Age of Extinction (2014), and The Last Knight (2017).

However, Bay stopped directing the films in the franchise after his last project, Transformers: The Last Knight. The upcoming seventh installment, Transformers: Rise of the Beast, is directed by American filmmaker Steven Caple Jr with Bay serving as a film producer. Though the film is yet to hit theaters it has it has received a 68% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which has the internet abuzz with curiosity.

In 2018, director Travis Knight directed the highly-rated Transformers flick Bumblebee which received an overwhelming response from the audience and critical acclaim for its action-packed sequence, mind-blowing visuals, and of course, Knight’s filmmaking genius earned him the attention of industry heavyweights.

However, the upcoming sequel in the commercially hit franchise is receiving mixed reviews, with 68% ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. The Transformers franchise fans are now demanding the return of Travis Knight, who directed the 2018 sequel, which broke its previous film records at the box office by grossing $468 million worldwide and received an impressive 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Michael Bay also directed the poorly recepted movie Transformers: The Last Knight (2017).

Noting the absence of director Michael Bay from the franchise, a fan wrote on Twitter,

“I want this film to do well. But I don’t think, after what Bay did to the franchise; people are willing to give this reboot a fair shot. Could be a flop, sadly.”

While another user expressed his opinion,

“Steven Caple Jr. is a good director. Travis didn’t have an ensemble of characters to deal with like what’s required of Rise of the Beasts. He only had Bumblebee and Charlie to worry about.”
