As the Harry Potter franchise was reaching its conclusion, emotions were running high for the actors involved. The cast and crew contemplated getting matching tattoos as a permanent memento of their time on set. While Rupert Grint showed interest in the idea, it appeared that not all of his co-stars were keen on the idea.

Rupert Grint and Emma Watson held different perspectives on how to commemorate the end of the Harry Potter franchise. Grint revealed that they had discussed getting tattoos to honor both the movies and their iconic characters, with the tattoos referencing Harry Potter’s distinctive appearance.

Daniel Radcliffe’s Roles Made It Difficult To Get Tattoos

In contrast to Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, the star of Harry Potter, was always enthusiastic about getting tattoos. In an interview with The Guardian, he confirmed rumors that he had plans to get a tattoo inspired by lyrics from a rock band’s song.

“‘Bravery Already Exists,'” Radcliffe said. “I want to get a tattoo on my forearm, something on my chest and maybe something on my back. There’s various quotes I love. It sounds pretentious but there’s something about the Beckett quote: ‘Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.'”

Playfully, Daniel Radcliffe quipped about his inability to adorn tattoos, attributing it to the demands of his profession, particularly during that phase when he bared a significant amount of skin in numerous projects.

“I’ve got to get a sustained series of jobs where I don’t have to get naked. But I haven’t hit one of them yet, for some reason. There was that first few years of my career when I was just doing Potter where there wasn’t a huge amount of n*dity. But since then it’s been almost every job,” he said.

In a rather recent interview with Wired, Radcliffe hinted that he might have been quite close to making a permanent mark on himself.

Beyond his fascination with getting a tattoo, Harry Potter alum Tom Felton appeared enthusiastic about persuading his co-stars to embrace the idea as well. However, Felton revealed that he and his fellow cast members ultimately had a change of heart and decided not to go through with it.

“I wasn’t supposed to say anything, but we’ve all got lightning bolts on our a***s,” he said in an interview with The Sun. “No, I’m joking. But I did try and talk them into it. I thought it was a nice idea – maybe not on the a**e, but a little something. We talked about it but all wimped out.”

Something similar was done by the cast of Avengers, where the original six Avengers were supposed to get the same tattoo before Mark Ruffalo ditched them.
