And the Suicide Squad director has recently shared a new Superman image on his Twitter. The image is the cover of Action Comics #1050. Considering that the issue is pretty recent, it is assumed that Gunn would hardly take it as an inspiration for his film.

He has said that the new Superman movie would not be an origin story. Gunn has also said that he is almost done with the script of Superman: Legacy. James Gunn has said that Superman: Legacy would focus on Superman trying to balance his “Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing.”
