Henry Cavill made his debut as the Kryptonian superhero with the 2013 film Man of Steel. He starred in multiple films as Superman. Fans loved how he brought the character to life on screen. Seeing the huge fan demand, Dwayne Johnson brought him back in Black Adam and also teased a future for the character under the DC Universe.

And the Suicide Squad director has recently shared a new Superman image on his Twitter. The image is the cover of Action Comics #1050. Considering that the issue is pretty recent, it is assumed that Gunn would hardly take it as an inspiration for his film.

He has said that the new Superman movie would not be an origin story. Gunn has also said that he is almost done with the script of Superman: Legacy. James Gunn has said that Superman: Legacy would focus on Superman trying to balance his “Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing.”

The co-CEOs have said that the new Superman story would focus on the earlier life of Superman. And this is the reason they are not planning to continue with Henry Cavill and want to cast a younger actor in the role. However, as the co-CEO shared the new image, Cavill fans are once again demanding the return of their favorite Superman.
