As the s*x scene between Aniston and Hamm started asserting domination in social media, The Morning Show season 3 director Mimi Leder candidly explained the gravity of the hot steamy naked romance. Speaking with Variety, the filmmaker revealed her intention behind the steamy scene:
“It was a closed set, and two very grown-up actors who really understood the nature of the storytelling and were very much a part of it. We wanted it to be sensitive. We wanted it to be sexy. We wanted it to be adult. We wanted it to be emotional. They really let go. They’re great actors. And there you have it.”
It’s a “really interesting episode: It’s sort of a rom-com episode,” she continued. But it’s also a “very important, political episode and a turning point in the series.” The Morning Show season 3 is currently streaming on Apple TV+.
