For a while now, fans of the Snyderverse have been campaigning for WB Discovery to sell the rights of the DCEU to Netflix, which has been the new home to Zack Snyder. And even though WBD has showcased no interest in handling some of their biggest IPs to the streaming platform, the discussion surrounding it has once again reignited following Snyder’s stance on the matter.

Although the 300 director’s DCEU never attained the heights that it should’ve, which will end with Aquaman 2, the director did build a cult following due to his provocative depiction of the DC heroes. And with Snyder, who has been pretty busy crafting his Star Wars-inspired Rebel Moon for Netflix, finally expressing his one condition to fulfill his vision for the DCEU, fans are rallying behind him.

Zack Snyder Would Be Willing to Continue His DC Universe if Netflix Attains the Rights

While speaking about his upcoming sci-fi with Cultura Ocio, Zack Snyder revealed that he is open to finishing what he started a decade back with Man of Steel under one condition. Although Snyder explicitly made clear he is only interested in adapting Frank  Miller’s TDKR for the new DC universe, he’d be more than willing to conclude the Snyderverse if Netflix gets the rights to his DCEU.

“If Netflix had the rights to the characters from my DC universe, of course I would, absolutely”

This has reasonably led to the fans of the previous DCEU lining up to showcase their support, reigniting the campaign for WBD handling the rights of the Snyderverse to Netflix.

But considering Snyder will be busy crafting the planned trilogy for his next big project, whose first chapter will debut this December, it’s highly unlikely that this will come to fruition anytime soon if ever.

Zack Snyder Wants the New DCU to Work

Although the possibility of Netflix attaining the rights to the Snyderverse appears implausible, the 300 director holds no grudges against the new DC regime that ended DCEU’s struggling run. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Zack Snyder revealed that he wished James Gunn the best, after he became the new DC head, explaining that he really wants Gunn’s DCU “to work”. He said,

“I called him and said I wish all the best for him. I told him I wanted it to work.”

But things aren’t all gloomy for Snyder fans, as the director did gain back the rights to the sequel to the film that skyrocketed him to stardom, earning him the status of the visionary director. Reflecting on Blood and Ashes, which was originally pitched as a sequel to 300,  Snyder stated it might be the perfect marketplace for the homoerotic, super violent, super s-xual movie.
