Bryan Cranston recently announced that he is working on a script for a highly anticipated reunion, movie, or show for Malcolm in the Middle American sitcom. He starred as Hal in the sitcom across seven seasons and captivated the audience with his perfect comedy timing.
The Breaking Bad star has worked in enough television shows, including this Fox show, which remains one of the most highly-rated projects to ever come out in the history of American television shows.
Cranston once claimed that when he got the opportunity to work on the project, he was so excited to work on it, and when it ended on September 30, 2005, he took a small hiatus from showbiz. The actor only teased an upcoming project but didn’t confirm if it would be a reunion or a film with a new concept.
Bryan Cranston Confirmed Malcolm in the Middle Reunion
Bryan Cranston has accomplished many milestones in his legendary acting career and sustained his star power with his dynamic roles in several television and film roles. He is a multifaceted star who earned widespread recognition for portraying Hal in the Fox family comedy series Malcolm in the Middle. Throughout its run on television across seven seasons from 2000 to 2006, the show earned numerous awards and drew critical acclaim.

Now fans of the classic series can rejoice as the Primetime Emmy Award-winning actor recently teased that he is currently working on a script for an upcoming reunion, show, or movie, whatever the creators would decide to go for.
Bryan Cranston recently appeared in the latest episode of Watch What Happens Live, and when asked by a fan in the audience about the ongoing rumors of Malcolm in the Middle’s possible revival, the actor excitedly confirmed, saying,
“Yes, I would say that on a scale of 1-10, I’d say an eight that we’ll do a reunion, movie or show or something. And yes, we have been working on concepts of story, plots, and things like that.”
Earlier, Frankie Muniz, who played the titled character Malcolm in the series, claimed he would be hundred percent down to reprise his role for the reboot.
“When I was filming the show, I obviously was a kid. We did seven seasons and 151 episodes. I didn’t really watch the show when it was on, but I’ve now since watched the show with my wife. All 151 episodes. I realized, ‘Wow, that’s what we were making.’ I can separate myself from being on it and watching it as a fan. I would love to know what the family’s up to.”
It would be interesting to see the actor and his co-stars in the upcoming Malcolm in the Middle reunion after the show ended nearly two decades ago.
Bryan Cranston Shares The Show’s Creator Approached Him for a Revival
Cranston is a veteran star of Hollywood who has consistently delivered applaud-worthy and acclaimed performances across all fields he has worked in. In a candid interview with British GQ, the actor revealed that he is excited to revisit his character on the Fox series for the upcoming 20th-anniversary revival project as the show’s creator Linwood Boomer approached him for the same. Bryan Cranston said,
“I’m curious about that family 20 years later. What happened to them? Where are they? What are the kids doing? They’re grown men now.”
The actor added that he still misses his co-stars of Malcolm in the Middle like crazy. He told E! News,
“We had such a great family on that [show], and I certainly would be open to that if there was a good idea that came up like, oh, that would be fantastic to explore what happened to this family 20 years later.”
The star-studded ensemble cast of the titular sitcom featured Frankie Muniz, Jane Kaczmarek, Brayan Cranston, Christopher Kennedy Masterson, Justin Berfield, and Erik Per Sullivan.
