Call of Duty fans are in a mood to celebrate. Makarov is almost here. For those who don’t know, Makarov is the villain of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Even though it is a reboot of the original Modern Warfare 3, fans will get a chance to see the evil of Makarov in a 3D and better version. They are eager to see how Task Force 141 will handle such an evil mastermind.
After playing Modern Warfare 2 in 2022, the expectations regarding Makarov’s return were high. The Call of Duty developers are doing everything possible to give the fans what they want. They are not thinking of financial matters. Reports suggest that it has already crossed the $1 Billion budget line. Yet, there is a condition that could potentially see the developers spending more.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Is Ready To Spend More Money For The Best Experience
Call of Duty is a multi-billion dollar franchise. There is no way they will skip any of their high priorities to keep the financial matter in check. The same thing happened with Modern Warfare 3. Call of Duty narrative director Shelby Carleton explained that several new features have been added to the game. The changes are mainly in the missions during the single-player campaigns.
The players can choose their own paths during a mission. If the leader of Task Force 141, Captain Price (Player), decides to use stealth mode for a particular mission. His team members will also follow the same strategy. If he chooses to go, Terminator, then Ghost and other members will also rain hellfire on the enemies.
Other than that, they want the best experience for the gaming community. Call of Duty creative director, David Swenson, said that if they feel something is the highest priority, they will add it to the game no matter what it costs. David Swenson said, “There are always priorities, right? We’ll go: ‘We want to go to this location, we want to do this bit of gameplay’ and that will have a cost attached. But if it’s a really high priority for us, if it’s going to make the game awesome, we’ll do it even if it’s going to cost a lot and will take a lot of manpower.”
Call of Duty Could Potentially Spend $1 Billion On Modern Warfare 3
The Competition and Market Authority has predicted that Call of Duty has $1 Billion for Modern Warfare 3. The developers have already spent almost $300 million to develop the video game. However, due to the contents of the video games, they believe that one studio will not be enough. The developers think they need 1.5 lead studios. This could increase their budget to $450 Million.
Other than that, a few AAA publishers reportedly could spend $500 Million more on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3‘s marketing. This could take the pre-launch cost to almost a billion dollars. For many, this is a huge amount. But for CoD developers, it is an investment. They are not thinking about money. Instead, they want Modern Warfare 3 to be the best game and give the best experience to the gaming community. If all these things are true, CoD: MW3 could potentially become the most expensive game ever.
