Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was released earlier this month and has turned out to be a success at the box office. The movie was the 7th installment in the Transformers franchise and a prequel to Transformers movie which started the franchise back in 2007.

The ending scene of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is what caught the most attention from the fans as Michael Kelly appeared as Agent Burke in the movie hinting at a major Transformers-G.I. Joe crossover is on the cards in the next sequel of the movie.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura confirmed a Transformers-G.I. Joe crossover

The producer of the Transformers franchise, Lorenzo di Bonaventura talked about the plans for the next sequel in the franchise and confirmed the news about a possible Transformers-G.I. Joe crossover. He said,

“We’re introducing Joe characters into the world that we’re dealing with, on whatever our characters are gonna go do. We’re also not through with the Maximals, so I imagine in the next movie we’ll have Maximals, Autobots, and Joes.”

Lorenzo di Bonaventura further talked about the complexity of introducing Joes in the Transformers franchise. He said,

The idea of trying to do the whole Joe world at the same time is a little daunting. This is a way to bring them into our world, remind people of who they are, and they’ll have a role in the plot.

The director of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is already working on a sequel

The director of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Steven Caple Jr. recently confirmed that he is already developing the sequel to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts movie. According to Entertainment Weekly, Caple has already started with the development of the sequel and talked about the storyline of the next movie. He said,

It is definitely gonna incorporate some Joes characters, but it won’t go into, maybe, the true origins of the Joes.
