However, deja vu is appearing in front of Rockstar, as something similar happened during the production of GTA San Andreas. One of the developers from the olden games recalls the amount of time they had—3 years—to finish San Andreas, and they decided to go crazy with the addition of extra features in the game.

Fate Of GTA 6 Could Be Similar To GTA San Andreas

GTA San Andreas is one of the best and most extensive games of its time. The biggest reason for GTA San Andreas being as extensive as it is is largely due to the time spent by the developers during production.

During an Interview with SanInPlay, Rockstar North’s former technical director reflects on the old GTA games he has been a part of while also shedding light on the potential similarities between the production of GTA 6 and San Andreas.

He talks about how in today’s times there is little scope to provide people with a unique experience as the jump in technological advancements is not as rapid as it was at the start of the century during the release of older GTA games, including San Andreas.

He stresses the fact that the jump from GTA 3 to San Andreas was huge, and the same was true for San Andreas to GTA 4, which was largely due to this particular reason and also because they had a lot of time in hand during the production of the game. He said:

We did that on purpose because with San Andreas we had a lot of time to do that, like we had 3 years and we went crazy with all the features. We were like stealth and skydiving and all these bikes, articulated lorries – it was just ridiculous.

And of course, the three cities. And then at the end of that, we thought, ‘Ok, that was dumb,’ because we didn’t have to do it. We could do half of it and it would still be very good

He believes that we will not see a huge jump in the latest game from its predecessor, as technological advancements currently limit the scope to which developers can reach out.

GTA 6 Is Going To Be A Great Game Despite Not Having Major Jumps In The Gameplay

It is fair to say that GTA 6 is undoubtedly going to be a great game if we were to take some pressure off of it to achieve something beyond what GTA 5 did in terms of gameplay. It will surely have new things and features to explore, but it is not here to redefine the GTA games but only add to their greatness.

GTA 6’s trailer is one of the most watched on YouTube, which speaks highly of the anticipation surrounding the game, and there is a lot of pressure on Rocstar to meet these expectations of players from all around the world who have been waiting for the game for many years now.

There is a high chance that it fails to do what San Andreas did for us, but it is also fair to give the game a chance to unfold in front of us in all its glory for us to celebrate and experience.
