There has been a lot of talk around Shazam!: Fury of the Gods before and after its release. Between accusations of nepotism against James Gunn, Dwayne Johnson’s alleged sabotage regarding the end credits scene, and Zachary Levi’s insensitivity towards the late Lance Reddick on Twitter, the film has been through a rollercoaster ride. To add to the woes, Shazam! 2 failed to make an impact with fans and critics who slammed the movie for its mediocre and unimpressive plotline. All these problems have led the movie’s protagonist, Zachary Levi, to desperately take measures to salvage his film and reputation.

Levi began by making shocking revelations about what went on behind the scenes in the Shazam! movies including inside scoops on the reasons behind Henry Cavill’s headless Superman cameo, and Dwayne Johnson’s ulterior motive. The actor has now allegedly taken his effort a step further by dissuading audiences from thronging to John Wick 4. One of the people who strongly opposed Levi’s negative marketing was Marvel star, Anson Mount.

Zachary Levi’s Video Was conveniently Edited

Shazam! star Zachary Levi’s viral video saw the actor making a controversial comparison between Shazam! 2 and John Wick 4. But after careful analysis, it has come to light that the video has been conveniently edited, thereby taking the Chuck actor’s comment out of context. While Levi mentioned that Shazam! 2 is better suited for family viewing than Keanu Reeves’ action thriller, the celebrity’s comment about the superior film is found to be untrue.

Regardless of what Zachary Levi did or did not say, the fact remains that the Alvin and the Chipmunks actor is desperately keen to resurrect Shazam! 2 in any way possible. Now, with the stupendous opening for John Wick 4 and the massive appreciation for Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski, Zachary Levi’s anxiety over his film underperforming is very valid.
