Kevin Feige has been riding the wave of new releases that the MCU has been churning up since the expansion took off rapidly after the end of Avengers: Endgame. New projects have been popping up like crazy at record speeds for any major film franchise, and acquisitions and investments that had been made by Disney have contributed to copyrighted Marvel Comics characters returning to the MCU after a long wait. This trend does not seem to have an end in the near future as more and more inclusions of the MCU continue to happen.

And yet again, we now have confirmation regarding another inclusion to the MCU that fans have been waiting for years!

In the recent Black Panther: Wakanda Forever world premiere, when asked what will happen with the X-Men, Kevin Feige gave a cryptic answer that made us suspicious about the return of the Mutants to the silver screen, which could be far closer than we assumed.

X-Men Could Join The MCU After Deadpool 3!

As the world of Mutants slowly creeps ever closer, with the X-Men even getting a shout-out in a recent episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and the announcement of X-Men ’97- The Animated Series, executives have been subject to many a question about the timeline for the return of the X-Men, with this line of inquiry even reaching the very top of the company. Deadpool 3 is confirmed to have the fan-favorite Wolverine who is played by Hugh Jackman, it was only time before we would hear anything about the inclusion of the school of Mutants. It turns out, we might have something that might signal their return.

While at the world premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel boss Kevin Feige spoke with Deadline about the timeline for the MCU’s Mutants. When asked the question that seems to be on everyone’s mind about when the X-Men will finally appear, Feige played coy, joking about his recent robotic appearance in She-Hulk and referencing Deadpool 3. This was something that was present during the season finale of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, but listening to it from the real Kevin Feige gives us some hints at an answer that he doesn’t want to disclose just yet.

“That’s what Jennifer Walters just asked the robot in the final episode of She-Hulk. And I’ll give you the same answer that he gave, which was, I don’t remember, no answer, I think was what he gave, yes. But Deadpool and Wolverine, you know, we’re getting close.”

This can be a piece of huge news, because believe it or not, Deadpool 3 will also signify Deadpool’s welcome into the MCU, as well as Wolverine, who is one of the OG Mutants to walk the face of the planet. Deadpool 3 was a surprise in itself, announced just like that through Ryan Reynold‘s Instagram and YouTube channel, and Hugh Jackman’s inclusion was the icing on the cake, but now we have speculative evidence that can possibly hint towards the X-Men being introduced into the MCU right after Deadpool 3. Kevin Feige has sparked hope inside fans with this cryptic statement, and we sure hope this turns out to be true.

How Will The X-Men Join The MCU?

Deadpool and Wolverine will likely faceoff in Deadpool 3.
Deadpool and Wolverine will likely face off in Deadpool 3.

Right after the events of Deadpool 2, we see Wade Wilson grab hold of Cable’s time-wrapping teleportation device and travel through different dimensions and realities to alter some events that he doesn’t want us to remember. In one such jump, we see him briefly meeting Wolverine from X-Men Origins: Wolverine. This might or might not have been a direct connection to Deadpool 3, but it certainly gave us a glimpse into the future of sorts.

Now imagine the same scenario in Deadpool 3, but this time, Logan has taken the device and is having his little adventure, when all of a sudden, he teleports to a place and finds a group of people in front of him, all with different shapes and sizes and body features. What if these are the Mutants from the X-Men?

This all may sound a little far-fetched, but when you are in a movie with Deadpool, the most ridiculous of reasons might turn out to be the most obvious ones.
