Cameron Diaz is returning to the silver screen after a decade in the action comedy Back in Action starring Jamie Foxx. During the production of the film, it was rumored that the two stars did not get along on set and Foxx’s unprofessional behavior created problems for other crew members. (via The Sun).
Now Diaz herself has addressed this situation and ended these baseless reports. She criticized the unfair negative publicity on Foxx while also explaining how much she enjoyed making the film with him. She told Lipstick on the Rim podcast,
“I had a blast. Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much. He’s such a special person and he’s so talented, so much fun. I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set. At the time, you just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?’
Jamie is like the cheerleader for the entire crew, and everybody loves him. We have so much fun on the set with him, and he’s just a professional on every level.”
The actress is making a stand against baseless rumors surrounding a film that has become a real problem in the industry. It can really hamper the film’s hype among audiences and Diaz speaking out against it is a great thing to do as a part of the film.

Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz’s Instant Chemistry Caused Re-Writes on The Mask
Cameron Diaz made her film debut with the classic 1994 Jim Carrey starrer The Mask. Audiences loved the sizzling chemistry between Carrey’s Stanley Ipkiss and Diaz’s Tina Carlyle and the makers also realized it once Diaz came on board for her role. This also caused some major rewrites for her character as explained by the film’s producer Bob Engelman.

Engelman revealed that they changed Tina’s role to a good-natured woman as the makers saw her amazing chemistry with Carrey. He also claimed that all the crew immediately loved Diaz when she came on board the film. He told Forbes,
“People instantly fell in love with Cameron Diaz and never saw her as bad. Much of it had to be re-conceived and so, in the previewing process, we actually [had] 20 minutes [of introduction] before Jim entered the scene.
We got rid of all that. In the very very early readings, Jim Carrey was better reading with Cameron, so that’s what people don’t realize. There is truly such a thing as chemistry.”of
The film proved to be a highly successful debut for Diaz and the film itself became an iconic film in both the actors’ careers. The film’s success paved the way for Diaz as a promising leading actress and she went on to star in many other successful films.
