Shortly after the infamous slap, Alsina posted a message on his Instagram, asking his fans to “choose peace,” with a few words of enlightenment that some would find hard to decipher. In 2020, Pinkett Smith revealed that she had an affair with the singer while she was privately separated from the actor. Even today, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith face issues in their relationship as it has been confirmed that they have been separated since 2016.

Three days after actor Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock, singer August Alsina posted a subtle message on his Instagram, referring to the slap. The singer, who had a brief affair with Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, wrote,
“choose peace; trusting that life’s intricate puzzle pieces 🧩 are all forming together for the greater good and mastering of the seasonally sometime chaotic nature of your life’s art piece that’s being formed and painted by birthing life to your internal masterpiece; grown through external chaos-metamorphosing alchemy, dark turned 2 light and beauty within. Fans assume that this was a subtle dig at Will Smith as this post came just three days after the slap. During the 94th Academy Awards in Match 2022, Smith went up to the stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock for making a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, which she had been shaving since 2021 due to alopecia areata.

In July 2020, Jada Pinket Smith and Will Smith appeared on an episode of Red Table Talk, to address the issues in their relationship. During the conversation, Pinkett Smith admitted that she had a relationship with August Alsina while she was separated from Smith.
In a recent interview with NBC’s Today, Pinkett Smith has revealed that she and Will Smith have been separated since 2016. The actress said,
“Why it fractured, that’s a lot of things. I think by the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”
Even after 26 years, the issues in their marriage continue but they still haven’t ended their marriage as they hope to figure things out.
