Olivia Colman will soon be seen playing Sonya Falsworth in Secret Invasion alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders who play Nick Fury and Maria Hill respectively. While not much about the character Colman will be playing is known, her arrival into the MCU is something to be quite excited about, especially since she herself seems to be so passionate about the role.

In an interview with USA Today, Colman talked quite excitedly about her MCU role, she stated that she was a fan of Marvel all this time and after every MCU project she would insist to her agent to get her a role in one of the projects. She added that she was also excited to meet Jackson and Don Cheadle.

“I can’t give you spoilers because I can’t remember! “I feel slightly unfaithful to the smaller films, but I am a Marvel fan. After every Marvel film, I’d go to my agent, like, ‘Can I be a superhero?’ So eventually I got to do a tiny bit in a Marvel [show] and I was thrilled. From an actor’s point of view, to play and do all sorts of things is the dream. And I got to meet Samuel L. Jackson – the other Sam that I love – and Don Cheadle.”

The Empire of Light actress also stated that even though there’s a “Fight for spaces in cinema,” possibly referring to Marvel taking away the attention from smaller films, she “had a ball” working for Secret Invasion. We sure hope her use of past tense here doesn’t mean we won’t get to see her in MCU after the miniseries! Given the passion she has for working in the superhero universe, it looks like Colman wouldn’t mind returning, should she be presented with the chance.
