Jamie Dornan, the man known for portraying the iconic role of Christian Grey in the iconic franchise Fifty Shades recently suffered symptoms of a heart attack! While vacationing in Portugal, the actor had a wild experience since he and his friend suffered through heart attack symptoms and were immediately rushed to the hospital!
With forests, caterpillars, and irritation in the skin, Jamie Dornan simply “collapsed” and was rushed to the hospital. Although the actor survived, the doctor asked Dornan what he had been drinking the night before and it seems that the doctor didn’t like what he heard!
Jamie Dornan And His Friend Suffered Heart Attack Symptoms!
Traveling to Portugal, Dornan and his friends explored the wilderness of the forests when they came in contact with “processionary caterpillars”. These caterpillars have thousands of tiny hairs that release Thaumetopoein (a protein). The protein is responsible for irritation on the skin and pain in the eyes alongside a tingling sensation.
Dornan’s friend was golfing in the resort when he suddenly felt a tingling in his left hand and then his left arm. Being the son of a general practitioner, Jamie Dornan’s friend, Gordon Smart thought that he was having a heart attack! In an interview on BBC’s “The Good, the Bad and the Unexpected” Gordon Smart talked about their vacation in Portugal and how he and Dornan had to be hospitalized after suffering similar symptoms of a heart attack!
“It turns out we’d brushed up against hairy processionary caterpillars and have been very lucky to come out of that one alive. We had a great time the first day, played loads of golf, went out, lots of wine was drunk and then we got on to espresso martinis.”
He further continued,
“Anyway, the next day, we played golf, we were all absolutely dreadful and I started to feel tingling in my left hand and then tickling in my left arm. I’m the son of a GP and thought, ‘This is normally the sign of the start of a heart attack.’”
Well, it was just a brief contact with “processionary caterpillars” but the irritation was enough to resemble the symptoms of a heart attack. As Jamie Dornan and Gordon Smart were hospitalized, the doctor asked what they had been drinking the night before. Well, Smart’s answer was received with a scornful look from the doctor!
The Doctor Did Not Like Jamie Dornan And His Friend’s Drink Order!
Gordon Smart, being of Scottish descent while Dornan having an Irish descent, it was no surprise that the duo drank to their hearts’ fill. When it was confirmed that the caterpillars were responsible for the cause, the doctor asked Gordon Smart what they were drinking. His answer left the doctor with a visible disgust remark on his face!
When the doctor asked him “What have you been doing young man?”, here’s what Jamie Dornan’s friend had for an answer!
“At that point, he asked me a list of what we’d had to drink the day before as a Scottish man in Portugal, when you start saying, ‘Well, I think there were nine bottles of white wine, I had six espresso martinis’ and I could see him shaking his head disgusted with the Scottish specimen in front of him,”
Smart ended his statements by summarizing their deadly vacation by saying,
“So there’s my story; the good news is it wasn’t a caffeine overdose, it wasn’t a hangover — it was a poisonous, toxic caterpillar,”
Jamie Dornan hasn’t issued any comments about the matter but we are sure that the actor had one thrilling and adrenaline-inducing vacation.
