Hugh Jackman discovered his passion for acting while participating in school plays like My Fair Lady. He took a drama course in college to make up for some credits he had missed during his senior year while pursuing his B.A. in communications.

And it forever changed his life.

After his final performance for the Actors’ Centre in Sydney, he continued to study ‘acting’ full-time and was soon offered a part in the 10-part miniseries Corelli. After Corelli was a hit, Jackman continued to work in theatrical productions like Beauty and the Beast and started doing some Australian movies and television in his home country of Australia.

He received widespread acclaim for his performance in Oklahoma! of the West End production in 1998.

It wasn’t until the year 2000 that the 54-year-old actor rose to fame and became a box office powerhouse. In the movie X-Men, Wolverine was originally going to be played by Russell Crowe, but Crowe suggested that Jackman should take the part instead.

His Pay In Deadpool 3 Can Prove That He Gets Paid Well

Well, so far, Hugh Jackman’s salary for the upcoming Deadpool 3 movie is unknown. It wouldn’t necessarily be surprising if he worked for less than his typical blockbuster rate, given his friendship with Ryan Reynolds. And especially if backend box office bonuses are included in the arrangement.

However, if we can make an assumption, we can probably determine the projected salary for this upcoming movie. Jackman earned $500k for his initial Wolverine role in X-Men (2000). He has so far made $100 million from his role as Wolverine, which is impressive given that his last film was Logan in 2017.

This results in a 200X salary increase over the course of 18 years. So, from 2000 to 2017, the annual average salary that Jackman received for playing Wolverine was about $5,527,000.

If the assumed data is to be believed, he will likely ‌earn handsome pay for this upcoming venture (Deadpool 3).

Given that Deadpool 3 is expected to be an epic multiverse adventure, it’s possible that Jackman will portray Wolverine in multiple variants. The Real Steel actor will undoubtedly deliver a strong performance as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, but it would be great to see Marvel Studios try something new in the upcoming Phase 6 movie as well.

Deadpool 3 is scheduled to get in theaters on November 8, 2024.
