Considered to be one of the greatest of our generation, his projects are proof enough why he deserves the praise from the stars who have worked with him and from the audience who have witnessed the greatness of his cinematic masterpieces.
Being part of one of his visionary projects is something that almost all actors and actresses might dream of, but then there is Liam Neeson, who was mad at the director, and the reason was quite a simple yet bizarre one. The problem arose when Nolan asked the actor to do a scene, and he was quite confused by it.

Filmmaker Christopher Nolan knows this, which is the reason why he goes above and beyond while shooting every detail in any of his projects, which results in some of the most iconic and exemplary films in the industry. But doing so doesn’t just mean that he is putting effort into it, it’s also the stars that work with him. Although, that doesn’t mean they will like doing it every time.

In an interview, Liam Neeson, the star who worked with the Oppenheimer director on The Dark Knight Rises was confused enough to be mildly angry with him when he shot the scene where Christian Bale was tied to a chair, and Neeson appears in front of him in consciousness as his character Ra’s Al Ghul from The Dark Knight trilogy. He recalled the incident where he had arrived at the set and asked Nolan what he was doing, to which the filmmaker described the scene in simplicity. He said he was confused and demanded an explanation, saying:
“[Nolan] takes it to another extreme — I didn’t know I was in the movie, I went and shot a scene for two hours with Christian Bale. There was a set, and Christian was tied up. I said, ‘Chris, what am I doing?’ [As Nolan:] ‘Um… well, just walk forward, and say the lines, walk back, and that’ll be it, really.’ I said, ‘What the f***? Tell me the story!’ [As Nolan:] ‘Um… I’d prefer not to, really.’ Okay, don’t mind me — I’m just an actor,”
While he may have been kept in the dark at that moment, the end result should have been convincing enough to clarify his confusion and make his efforts worthwhile.

Not just among the fans of comic books and pop culture, Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy captivated the imagination and amazement of normal cinemagoing audiences and harsh critics alike. The stellar cinematography, mixed with the director’s signature outstanding narration prowess brought the character of Batman out like no one had ever seen before, which is the reason why the film series is still considered one of the best iterations of the superhero to date.
