Hulk Hogan made a memorable appearance in the barbaric Rocky III, playing the role of Thunderlips. Essaying the role of a professional wrestler, he has an iconic match with the lead, Rocky Balboa as they go head-to-head in a charity exhibition match. His small cameo helped Hogan become popular in both the world of entertainment and wrestling.

Despite his iconic role and his taking the world of wrestling to the next level, he was fired from WWF. And what is even worse is that Hulk Hogan was allegedly paid a lot less than he deserved in the movie. While appearing on Joe Rogan‘s podcast, Hogan revealed,

“So he goes I want you for the film and I’ve never had an agent, I’ve never been in a movie, I don’t know anything. He goes ‘I’ll give you ten thousand dollars to do sylvesthe film’. Me being the negotiation genius that I am, ‘I want 15 grand’. So he gave me 14,000 and I signed whatever.”

Listening to this revelation, Rogan couldn’t stop from stating,

“Oh my God! He bargained with you. What the f*ck Sly, you stealing.”

And one can’t help but wonder did Sylvester Stallone stole from Hogan.

Hulk Hogan was on the verge of becoming a top star in the world of wrestling, hence his earning just 14 grand even for a small role seems wrong. Rocky III made over $270 million worldwide and Sylvester Stallone earned a total of over $120,000 also an undisclosed figure through the back end.

His earning seems even more unjust when we look at how much he earned from the rest of his entertainment ventures. Hogan was paid over a million dollars to star in the movie No Holds Barred. Furthermore, his average salary was reportedly around over a million dollars in his future roles in projects like Suburban Commando, Mr. Nanny, Walker, Texas Ranger.

However, one must keep in mind that when Hogan starred in Stallone’s Rocky III,  he was relatively unknown and just had a small appearance in the movie. But that does not mean that Hogan was paid enough for his cameo, and hence, it looks like Sylvester Stallone did pay the wrestling champion a lot less than what he deserved.
