There are no limits to Mark Wahlberg’s talents and he is easily one of the best actors of today’s time. With films like Ted, The Fighter, and The Departed, Mark Wahlberg has proved time and again why he is where he is. However, everyone has got to have that one project which shoots them to insane heights of success, and for him, it was Boogie Nights.

The 1997 drama is still considered to be one of Mark Wahlberg’s best roles ever. In the film, the actor plays the role of an adult film star, Eddie Adams. Eddie becomes a legendary part of the adult film industry thanks to his extra large genitalia. Although, of course, the film didn’t show Mark Wahlberg’s actual parts but a prosthetic that the actor still has hidden in a locker, to this day.

While Eddie Adams’ unusually large p*nis is teased for almost the entirety of Boogie Nights, it was revealed to the audience at the extreme end as Mark Wahlberg’s character repeatedly chants “I am a star.”

Just like any other actor, Wahlberg, too, took a souvenir home from the sets of his film which was, in fact, the prosthetic. During his appearance on Ellen, Wahlberg revealed to host Ellen DeGeneres that he has kept the prosthetic somewhere safely in a locker, far out of the reach of his children.

“Yes, yes. It’s in a safe locked away. It’s not something I could leave out. All of a sudden my kids are looking for the spare phone charger and pull that thing out and go, ‘What the heck is this?!’ It wouldn’t be a good look.”

It’s probably for the best that Wahlberg has the prosthetic hidden!

When DeGeneres asked if his kids had seen Boogie Nights, he replied stating that he thinks his daughter has but thankfully, she didn’t feel the need to talk about the certain something with her father. Wahlberg stated that she was “sparing” him. We cannot imagine how that conversation would go!

As reported by Chicago Tribune, Wahlberg stated during a Q&A in Chicago, “I just always hope God is a movie fan and also forgiving, because I have made some poor choices in my past…Boogie Nights is up there at the top of my list.”

He didn’t quite clarify why exactly he regretted doing the film but we suppose the adult content might be one of the reasons as he is a practicing Catholic. Later on, Wahlberg clarified his comment to PEOPLE stating,

“I was sitting in front of a couple of thousand kids talking about and trying to encourage them to come back to their faith, and I was just saying that I hope [God] has a sense of humor because I maybe made some decisions that may not be okay with him.”

Well, it looks like despite receiving a ton of praise for Boogie Nights, he regrets doing the film at the end of the day. However, this doesn’t mean he is not thankful for the opportunity as he believes he became a “real actor” thanks to Boogie Nights.
