Spider-Man: No Way Home surprised fans with unexpected appearances from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, alongside iconic Spider-Man villains. However, the studio’s commitment to keep such surprising elements under wraps proved to be challenging for one of the cast members. And the leaked photos of him with his co-star Tobey Maguire did not make things easier. The Social Network star expressed his anxiety over the leaked photos later in an interview.
Andrew Garfield Was Stressed Keeping No Way Home Secret
Following the release of the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home, Andrew Garfield opened up about the “rather stressful but also weirdly enjoyable” time he had trying to keep his surprise appearance in the movie a secret.
While promoting his movies, tick, tick…BOOM! and The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Garfield constantly insisted that he would not be appearing in the 2021 Spider-Man film. However, he was freaking out after pictures of him and the Brothers star from the streets of Atlanta started going viral.
Despite the leaked images, the Mainstream star continued to dismiss the claims. However, after the film’s release, he admitted that he was in a state of panic as the leaked photos would have spoiled everything. “All these leaks were happening, and I was like, ‘Oh, my God, guys, what the hell is going on?” he told The Wrap.

Once he was reassured that the makers would take care of the leaks, he decided that he would “keep denying it.” Garfield shared that although he’s not a good liar, he tried his best, considering the joy and thrill fans would feel seeing all three Spider-Man together on screen.
Andrew Garfield Snuck into a Spider-Man Screening
The Amazing Spider-Man star shared during an interview that he snuck into a Spider-Man: No Way Home screening with co-star Tobey Maguire. “I still can’t believe it happened,” he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight before adding, “I snuck into a theater on opening night.”
He shared that he watched the movie in a baseball cap and mask with his fellow Spider-Man actor. “I was also with Tobey. Me and Tobey snuck into a theater together, and no one knew we were there,” he told the outlet.
He also talked about his relationship with Maguire and Tom Holland, saying that they share a unique experience and he has found a brotherhood in his co-stars. Talking about a potential return to the MCU after No Way Home, the Oscar-nominated actor said, “Never say never.”
