It wasn’t a surprise when Robin Williams landed a movie with Al Pacino. On Christoper Nolan‘s Insomnia, Williams had more than enough fun shooting with the just as legendary actor. In an interview when talking about his collaboration with Pacino, Williams described how to get into character, Al Pacino would try some method acting just before every take. To mess up things and catch Pacino’s attention, Williams decided to do the same.

“My first day working with Al… he does this Method thing where before every take he would roar like a lion. So my first day working with him, I bleated like a goat. ‘What was that?!’ ‘It’s me, Al. It’s Robin. I was just kidding.’ It was kind of nice to just go ‘I’m here. I understand. I’m just playing.’”

Continuing on he described it nice to mess around a bit as the movie was a psychological thriller, and it was his way of making Pacino understand that he was there as The Godfather actor was having a very hard time due to his schedule.

Best remembered for his hilarious stand-up comedy, the actor, for whom comedy was as natural as breathing, starred in multiple thrillers as well.

Jumangi, Dead Poets Society, Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Morning, Vietnam and a couple of dozen other movies reflect the mind-bending and transforming roles that the late actor had portrayed over his very successful career. When he was still at the height of his career, nobody could have guessed that the actor would take his own life at the age of 63.

His tragic death is embedded in the hearts of his many admirers and fans, who are still unable to comprehend how a person who brought so much joy would take such a tragic step. While he may have left us, his excellent work over the years remains a testament to his mastery of the craft, his dedication, and his relentless creativity.
