“What’s wrong with you?”: Charlize Theron Tried Hooking Up After Chelsea Handler Forced Her To Use Dating Apps

Charlize Theron Was Forced To Download A Dating App

During an interview on The Ellen Show, Charlize Theron revealed that her long-time friend, Chelsea Handler tried to get the actress to up her dating game by downloading a dating app targeted towards celebrities. The actress was told by Handler that everyone was doing this, jokingly making fun of Theron for not knowing what online dating is.

“I knew nothing about this world and then we were at the women’s march in park city” she went on, “We were there and she was on her phone and she showed it to me and she was explaining it to me in that Chelsea Handler way where she was like ‘yeah everybody is doing this. Like, what’s wrong with you? Like where have you been, under a rock?’. So then took a real interest and I was like ‘So tell me, how does it work?’.” stated the actress.

Once Handler explained to Theron what dating apps were all about, the actress was quite intrigued by the concept of it, wanting to learn more about this particular app. The actress learned about the many different types of people on apps like this as well as the fact the people that she rejects on the app will be able to see the fact that she rejected them

Charlize Theron Does Not Like Dating Apps

Charlize Theron then went on the say that when she went onto the app, she very quickly realized that online dating was not something she was all too fond of. The actress revealed that she did not like the people on the app and the way that they presented themselves to her, including the pictures that they put up and the conversations she had with them.

“She’s swiping all these faces of guys in all different sorts of phases- I’m gonna sound like I’m eighty, but they are in all of these different variations of no clothes and they know that you’ve just said no. And then you have to text them and the flirting starts and it’s kind of awkward cause you don’t know the person and they are like trying to be cute and say weird things like, ‘What’s up, sexy?’ and it’s just awkward.” She stated.

Theron mentioned that she much preferred more traditional methods of dating, stating that she would much rather go on a date where she is being set up by a friend and get to meet someone through a mutual friend. That actress felt a little awkward, stating that she thought that her ideals on dating were very old school and weird.
