Jackie Chan became an iconic actor with his influence on American movies with his kung fu and creative stunts. Being a veteran actor, Chan has almost solely done all the stunts himself throughout his career and it is quite a notable feat.
Sitting alongside Steve Harvey in a hilarious interview, Jackie Chan played the game of “success or fail” on videos of people doing stunts. Accidentally exposing the truth about stunt people in Hollywood, Chan joked that if the stunt person said that he wasn’t okay…he was out of the project!

Showing Chan a bunch of videos and pausing them at the perfect time, Harvey asked the actor to guess whether the stunts would be a success or not. Being a veteran actor and stunt performer, Chan had no hesitation in criticizing the people and also talking about how “that doesn’t hurt”.
“It doesn’t hurt much. That’s how we do. We’re making a movie, boom, director asks ‘You okay?’ [in strained voice] ‘Yeah, I’m okay’.”
Jackie Chan further continued,
“When you say ‘No’, you’re out. You run out of the job!”
Coincidentally or not, Steve Harvey immediately decided to show the next clip as the show continued without people realizing the severity of Jackie Chan’s words.
When Jackie Chan’s Comments Got Him Into Trouble
It was back in 2009 when Chan stated in the Boao Forum that “Chinese [people] need to be controlled”. Well, these comments caused a lot of controversies surrounding the actor, and his ties with several movies were shattered.
“I’m not sure if it’s good to have freedom or not. I’m really confused now. If you’re too free, you’re like the way Hong Kong is now. It’s very chaotic. Taiwan is also chaotic. I’m gradually beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled. If we are not being controlled, we’ll just do what we want. If we are not being controlled, we’ll just do what we want.”
That comment did have some consequences but Chan was eventually forgiven by the world. The actor is currently busy with his upcoming movies with several iconic projects like Rush Hour 4, Untitled Karate Kid Project, and, Kung Fu Panda 4 in the works.
