Several people have been wondering while playing Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 where Marvel’s other Superheroes are. Are they possibly alone in the universe? Since, there are two other Spider-Men in the game, along with terrible fiends like Kraven the Hunter, Venom, and all the other horrible villains who terrorize New York City.
PlayStation’s owner, Sony, has licensed Spider-Man characters for the game; however, these licenses are heavily controlled and costly. Putting the Avengers or other Marvel superheroes won’t be realistic. However, it doesn’t mean there aren’t any hints of the existence of the extended Marvel universe. There are easter eggs in the game, which proves the presence of The Avengers, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and the Fantastic Four.
Where are The Avengers in Spider-Man 2?
In the fifth issue of Spider-Man Unlimited Infinity, which was a comic series exclusive to the digital Marvel Unlimited subscription, there is a conversation between two Spider-Men from different universes.
In comic 616, Spider-Man asks Insomniac’s Peter Parker, “How many superheroes are there in your Manhatten?” to which he replies, “Regularly? Maybe half a dozen. You’ve got more?” and the conversation goes back and forth, “Just a tad,” followed by, “Where I’m from, they’re always gone.”

However, it’s not like there is no presence of reference to the Marvel universe in Spider-Man 2. There are certain easter eggs in the series that hint towards the existence of The Avengers, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and the Fantastic Four in Insomniac’s universe via various landmarks placed in New York. The most prominent one is The Avengers Tower.
Will there be a Wolverine and Spider-Man crossover in the future?
Insomniac Games may be teasing a crossover between Wolverine and Spider-Man. With that being said, gamers and fans have been concerned about whether Marvel’s Wolverine will take place in the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
There hasn’t been any official confirmation. Considering how other Marvel titles are entirely disconnected from each other, the possibility of Marvel’s Wolverine and Marvel’s Spider-Man being in the same universe seems plausible, as Insomniac Games is developing both.
