It’s a known fact that Santa Monica’s God of War Ragnarok, the sequel to the record-breaking reboot, God of War is one of the most praised games that has hit the shelves in the last couple of years. The title brings engaging gameplay, a compelling narrative, and memorable characters. The game earned so much appreciation that it was a contender for the 2022 Game of the Year award.

In the last couple of years, we’ve seen Sony making a habit of porting its biggest exclusive titles to PC. So naturally, it was assumed that God of War Ragnarok would eventually make it’s way there as well. Fortunately, it looks like we won’t have to wait long for a PC port. Dealabs’ billbin-kun, one of the most reputable insiders in the community, has revealed that the PC port of Santa Monica Studio’s critically acclaimed action-adventure title is on its way.

Reports Suggest God of War Ragnarok PC Port Announcement Set to Happen in May 2024

Earlier today, reputable insider billbin-kun confirmed that the latest entry in Santa Monica’s hit franchise, starring Kratos, will be the next PlayStation exclusive to debut on PC. The leaker suggests that the PC port announcement will come this month.

However, the announcement is unlikely to happen during the rumored showcase. We will most likely see an announcement for God of War Ragnarok’s PC port on the official PlayStation Blog.

Unfortunately, we still don’t have a release date for God of War Ragnarok’s PC port. Previous leaks suggested that Sony will release the port during the first quarter of 2025. With Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut debuting on PC within a span of just two months, we might possibly see the upcoming Last of Us Part II Remastered and God of War: Ragnarok release close to one another this year.

Although it’s been four years since God of War Ragnarok launched, it’s still one of the most played games on PlayStation consoles. Last year, the developers expanded the same with a free Valhalla expansion, bringing a new post-game campaign. There’s no doubt that a PC port would take the game’s popularity to the next level.

However, as always, taking these rumors with a pinch of salt is crucial. Given how Sony handled Helldivers 2’s PSN linking requirements, they might intervene again and change the release schedule.

Are There Any Other PlayStation Exclusives Coming on PC?

Sony’s President, COO, and CFO, Hiroki Totki, stated in February that PlayStation will take a more “aggressive” approach to first-part PC releasesWe’ve already seen glimpses of this with the day-one launch of Helldivers 2 on PC, which, although it wasn’t a PlayStation exclusive, was ultimately published by Sony.

Sony’s next big PC port, Ghost of Tsushima, is all set to release on Steam on Thursday, May 16th, 2024. This means that the company might wait a bit to confirm God of War Ragnarok’s PC port so that it doesn’t overshadow Punch Production’s incredibly exciting open-world action game.

After the God of War Ragnarok PC debut, we might finally see Sony bring current-generation games to Steam. This includes games such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Gran Turismo 8, and the Demon’s Souls Remake. However, we still have many old-school titles, such as Bloodborne, which fans have been requesting for ages to be launched on modern gaming platforms.
