Kratos from the God of War video game series is one of the most popular video game characters in recent years, particularly with the 2018 soft reboot taken into account. Going from a bloodthirsty god hell-bent on revenge to a caring father requires a lot of nuance, which developers Santa Monica handled with a lot of care and thought.

Pitting Kratos up against other gods is what the games are all about, whether they be from the Greek pantheon or more recently the Norse pantheon. But how would Kratos fare against Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince, a fellow child of Zeus? While the two may be from completely different mediums (comic books and video games), many ‘what if’ battles are fun to theorize and speculate about.

Who would win in a fight between Kratos and Wonder Woman?

While they are both children of Zeus, Wonder Woman is different in that she is also a superhero and is usually depicted as fighting for the forces of good. In contrast to her is Kratos, who is selfish, full of rage, and wants vengeance against the Greek gods for using him; he hates Ares, the God of War, in particular. In the Norse saga of God of War, he changes, becoming calmer, more rational, and kinder, but his old, angrier side still surfaces from time to time. He is also regretful and somewhat ashamed of his past.

Given this huge difference in personality, Kratos could potentially find it easier to kill Wonder Woman, whereas Wonder Woman being more heroic and noble could actually be a disadvantage in a fight. Her powers include super strength, the ability to fly, quick healing, and more, but Kratos is still likely to win, not only because of the psychological differences but also because he has more offensive weapons available to him. Namely, these are the Blades of Chaos, the Leviathan Axe, and the Draupnir Spear, as of God of War Ragnarok.

How would Kratos fare against other DC and Marvel Gods?

There are several gods in the Marvel and DC comics multiverse, with some being taken from real-world mythologies like Thor, Loki, and Odin, while others are original to the comics, and god-like entities such as Dream of the Endless and Darkseid, to name a few.

Starting with Darkseid, who is one of the major villains faced by the Justice League, has superhuman strength, speed, and stamina, not to mention energy manipulation powers and a genius-level intellect to top it all off. He is also one of the most powerful beings in the DC multiverse. However, Kratos has found ways to defeat seemingly invulnerable foes before, and it is expected that Darkseid will be no different.

As for Dream of the Endless, also known as The Sandman and Morpheus, this will likely not be a physical fight, but rather a psychological one where Kratos is likely to face his trauma and dark past in his dreams or visions. Dream is a powerful, primordial being and will always reincarnate, in a manner of speaking, but Kratos has great mental strength and resolve too, so he will probably triumph against Dream as well.
