The actor was interviewed by Heatworld reporter Charlotte Long and she asked him if there was anything that he had left to achieve in his career. Carrey made a rather lurid comment and joked that she was the only one that he had left to get in his life. This led to a very awkward moment where the two individuals reacted to Carrey’s comment with an uncomfortable laugh.
Fans and audiences were critical of the actor and blasted the actor for his crude remarks in the interview. As Page Six reported, one fan called the actor a ‘sleazeball’ while another expressed that they had lost all respect for the actor after watching the interview. While Carrey has always been loved for his openness and humor, it seems he went too far with his joke in this one.
Jim Carrey Was Frustrated With The Shooting Process In His Film With Kate Winslet
Jim Carrey starred in the 2004 sci-fi romance film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with Kate Winslet. The film is arguably Carrey’s best film and his performance has been universally loved. However, the film had a very intentionally chaotic shooting schedule that annoyed Carrey.

The producer of the film, Anthony Bergman, revealed that director Michel Gondry would never yell action or cut while shooting the film and the whole filmmaking style was intentionally destabilizing. Carrey was not used to this process and was angry in the initial filming process of the film. Bergman said, (via Indiewire)
“It’s a very different type of role that Jim had. He’s a real perfectionist. It was ‘how do we destabilize it so he can’t prepare, so he can’t do the Jim Carrey thing?’ Part of the camera set-up stuff was designed to do that. Jim…he hated it. We knew he was going to hate it.
He would, like, storm out and scream at me. He called me all sorts of things and I would just be there to absorb it. He’s like, ‘This is like the worst set I’ve ever been on, I don’t know what the fuck is going on!’ And we’re like, ‘No, no, no, it’s all good. This is why we’re getting great stuff.’”
As Bergman explained, this unique style of shooting scenes brought out the best of Carrey as a dramatic actor. The film’s thought-provoking and bittersweet take on relationships impressed audiences and the chemistry between the two actors was universally praised.
