Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell appeared in a romantic-comedy movie Anyone but You directed by Will Gluck from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ilana Wolpert. The movie is loosely based on William Shakespeare’s play Much Ado About Nothing, and upon its release received mixed reviews from the audience and critics.
Sweeney and Powell’s movie Anyone But You has managed to gross $200 million worldwide making it the highest-grossing live-action adaptation of Shakespeare’s play. The story follows the duo in a perfect meet-cute scenario leading to an amazing first date, followed by their attraction turning ice-cold until they find themselves at a wedding in Australia. The movie received mixed reviews from the audience and critics despite grossing near about $200 million worldwide.
The two of them also garnered attention for their sizzling chemistry on and off the screen with rumors of them dating spreading like wildfire at the time of their filming. Sydney Sweeney who is reportedly engaged to businessman Jonathan Davino addressed the dating rumors with Variety and shared,
“It’s a rom-com. That’s what people want. Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I am a hard worker. They want it. It’s fun to give it to ‘em.”
The duo had put an end to their dating rumors while promoting the movie but a recent statement from Glen Powell does raise an eyebrow. At the SAG Awards 2024, the actor spoke to Variety and when asked about what’s next for them, he said,
“When you find somebody that you really jive with, Sydney is so easy to work with and so fun. We’re definitely trying to find the next thing. Please send us all the scripts you got. You know we’re here for it. It’s been wonderful to read a lot.”
The actor went ahead to compliment the actress by saying that she reads everything in record time adding that she is the fastest reader he’s ever met. He noted that they are reading everything and trying to see what makes sense and how can they turn into something that the audience is going to respond to.

Sydney Sweeney who likes to keep her personal life private is reportedly engaged to businessman Jonathan Davino but she has never commented on their engagement news. Since Glen Powell shared that the duo is looking to work together once again, fans have raised concerns for the actress’ personal life as it’s no hidden fact that at the time the two of filming the movie, their chemistry was the only thing everyone talked about.
