This year’s Xbox Developer Direct may have had you wondering whether Harrison Ford will be reprising his role as Indiana Jones in the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle game. Well, it is safe to say that he will, but not in the character’s entirety.
If you were paying close attention to the voice behind Indiana Jones in the gameplay trailer that was revealed, you may have noticed that it is rather similar to Harrison Ford. However, there is a slight difference many fans may not have recognized. The voice is actually not Harrison Ford’s, but it is safe to say the chosen actor will not let us down, as it isn’t the first time they have portrayed a major character in a video game, and it won’t be the last.
Who Is Voicing Indiana Jones in the Recent Gameplay Trailer?
Throughout the new gameplay trailer that was revealed at Xbox Developer Direct, we heard Indiana Jones speak quite a bit, but not with his usual voice. This is because he will be voiced by the legend, Troy Baker, who is most well-known for his role as Joel in The Last of Us.
Since Troy Baker has been put in this role, it is clear that there is already a large amount of star power included in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This is also positive news, as Baker is a fan of the franchise and will want to work hard to ensure that the game is amazing, so more titles can potentially be created in the future.
Even though it may not be Harrison Ford voicing the character he has popularized over the years, it cannot be said that Troy Baker hasn’t filled those shoes with impressive skill. He has blown expectations out of the water to the point that some people watching the stream still thought it was Harrison Ford, until it was revealed to actually be Troy Baker.
As sad as it is to see Harrison Ford miss out on the opportunity to voice Indiana Jones one more time, he will still be there in the leading role as the model for the character. And the very defined model that has been used is incredible, keeping every detail from the films exactly as they are, without missing a beat.
Troy Baker isn’t the only star power involved in this project, as other prominent voice actors will be taking on the numerous roles. For example, the main villain, Emmerich Voss, will be voiced by Marios Gavrilis, and Alessandra Mastronardi, will play Gina Lombardi in the game.
So far, the star power in this cast is astounding, and as the project continues, it will likely climb even further with more interesting characters being developed and included in the franchise.
