Later in 2009, the actor was replaced by his friend Danny Huston, who also portrayed the role of William Stryker in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In an interview with The Starting Line Podcast, Brian Cox revealed that he did not mind that he was replaced by his friend.

“No I mean, I did Stryker, and then they did it again in Australia, and my friend Danny Huston played Stryker.”

He further stated that he was stuck with a simple question on why he wasn’t called back to reprise his role in the film.

“Danny’s an old friend of mine so I, don’t feel any…But I kept thinking why did they not ask me. And I spoke to David Benioff about it, beacuse he had done the original, he didn’t do the final script, but he did the original script. So I don’t know. When these things finish, I tend to let go of them.”

On the other hand, there have been countless rumors that Brian Cox will reprise his role as William Stryker in the upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine. However, the actor recently confessed that he has no idea about these rumors so it could be a possibility that Cox may not be in the film at all!
