In the manga, the self-claimed strongest sorcerer, Satoru Gojo, was killed by Ryomen Sukuna. In the anime, Ryomen Sukuna killed another character, but this time it is a villain. The deceased villain is none other than Jogo, who uses fire-cursed energy. While it was satisfying to watch, there was a particular reason why he died at the hands of Sukuna and not Gojo.

Jogo is one of the members of the villain group in Jujutsu Kaisen. In season one, he escaped death narrowly after Satoru Gojo decapitated him. Even though he was powerful and could use Domain Expansion, he was nowhere near as strong as Satoru Gojo. Jogo was a powerful fire-cursed energy user, but at the same time, he was over-confident and cunning.

He always thought that he was as strong as Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. Jogo had a habit of asking Kenjaku what was his strength in comparison to Sukuna’s fingers. While he knew perfectly well that he was a weakling in front of Sukuna, his overconfident and cunning nature led him to believe otherwise.

Jogo thought he had absolute power even though he lost to Gojo Satoru miserably. But it was important for him to die at the hands of Ryumen Sukuna. It is because he never compared himself to Gojo Satoru. Sukuna was his only focus. So, it was Sukuna’s duty to put him in his place. Sukuna absolutely annihilated him and shattered all of his beliefs about his powers.
