Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are urging film and television producer Kevin Feige, the renowned president of Marvel Studios, to take action against a $60 million Bollywood film, which has seemingly incorporated scenes that are extraordinarily similar to the ones notable within the acclaimed Hollywood superhero franchise.
The film in question that has been stirring up this controversy is Indian film director Om Raut’s Adipurush. Released on 16th June 2023, this mythological action movie is an on-screen grand-budget adaptation of the Hindu epic, Ramayana. The reviews for the endeavor are in and most of it does not seem to be favorable.
With many claiming it to be a lukewarm attempt at best, observations have been made about a particular scene that shares eerie similarities to the MCU depiction of Asgard. In a nutshell, audiences have pointed out that the Bollywood film may have blatantly copied the Chris Hemsworth-starrer, Thor. It cannot be ascertained yet whether or not Kevin Feige will be forced to take action on grounds of plagiarism.

Ever since the release of Om Raut’s Adipurush, a huge number of controversies have been piling up against it. From audiences’ criticism towards the use of botchy, half-baked, and repurposed CGI and VFX to their disappointment over the caricaturish, outlandish dialogues presented within the film’s narrative, the negative remarks seem to be incessant and never-ending.
Film critics too have expressed their disapproval of the film, calling it a two-dimensional retelling of Indian mythology, with little to no depth to offer to the audience. On IMDB, the film’s rating stands at 4.6/10. From such a bleak reception, it can be concluded that this high-budget Bollywood film isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

What has now been unearthed by the masses on Twitter reveals to us that the movie may have blatantly reused graphics from the MCU—specifically holding uncanny resemblances to the depiction of Asgard within the much-acclaimed Thor films.

It is evident that not only are the fans of Marvel baffled, but the Indian audiences who were promised a retelling of Ramayana in all its grandiosity and magnificence have been let down as well. The mitigation of the convoluted string of controversies surrounding the film seems to have become an impossible task.
Fans Want Kevin Feige To Take Legal Action
Users of the Internet, voicing their disapproval of such an undisguised act of duplication, are urging producer Kevin Feige to sue the makers of the Bollywood film. There’s a thin line between inspiration and plagiarism. No thought can be completely original. An idea can take several shapes and be fostered by many influences. However, when one particular scene from a film looks like an exact, picture-perfect emulation of a scene from another movie, it poses some troublesome implications.

Although criticisms have been scathing and continuously building up, whether or not an action on behalf of Marvel Studios will be issued against Adipurush and its undeniable replication of Asgard remains debatable. The future remains unclear but carries an air of trepidation.
