The audience’s love for humongous monsters duking it out on the big screen has always been well-known worldwide, which has only grown in popularity since the inception of the MonsterVerse in 2014 with Godzilla.

And now, almost a decade later, the new installment in the franchise, titled Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire has proved yet again that this cinematic universe is here to stay.

Therefore, it’s no surprise that filmmaker Adam Wingard, who was also the man behind the extremely successful Godzilla Vs. Kong in the past, has planned ahead for another film in the series.

In a recent interview with IndieWire, the director revealed that he has been working on the third film in the Godzilla and Kong series even before his latest film’s release, and since the film is going to new heights, the possibility of this third film is higher than ever. He said:

“I know what I would like to do with the next one. There’s definitely more ground to cover.”

In many interviews before the film’s release, he had claimed similar things, saying that if this movie was to perform exceptionally well like his previous MonsterVerse film did, then Warner Bros. would have no issues greenlighting a third film, which now seems highly likely.

Why Is Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire Is Turning Out To Be A Hit?

One of the big reasons why everyone is gushing over this new MonsterVerse is due to the franchise constantly giving the audience what they want to see the most and that’s the monsters themselves.

This new movie is a stark departure from the early films in the franchise where the humans were the main focus, and instead, the titans are allowed to stampede on screen for more significant periods of time. Combined with the exceptionally well-executed action and fight sequences between these behemoths taking the audience by storm, it culminated in the film proving to become a box office on the first day of its release.
