Henry Cavill explained why it is important to keep on questioning one’s ability as an actor.

From Superman to Sherlock Holmes, Henry Cavill has portrayed some of the most influential characters of fiction in live-action, but every role has arrived with its own sets of challenges. However, even though he has managed to perfect every role that he has been assigned over the years, the Enola Holmes star hasn’t stopped questioning himself and his abilities as an actor. While speaking on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, the actor further explained why it is important to keep questioning one’s ability as an actor, as it helps in keeping one disciplined. He said,

“I think the funny thing is that you’re always going to question your own ability in your own self, I think regardless of what you do and regardless of what you’ve achieved unless, unless you’re completely mad, and I think that’s a healthy thing because it keeps you disciplined and keeps you honest”

And it’s safe to say that Cavill’s approach to his roles has worked out well, as the Man of Steel star has emerged as one of the most beloved stars of our time. The actor also explained how he managed to tackle some of the biggest roles in fiction, including Superman, and how he succeeded in differentiating himself from the previous iterations.

Henry Cavill shared how he approaches the roles of already-established characters

Approaching the roles of already-established characters isn’t easy, but Henry Cavill might be one of the best to do it. From reinventing Superman for the modern era to bringing his own spin to the character of Sherlock Holmes, Henry Cavill knows how to handle the pressure of handling such iconic characters. On asked how he manage to overcome the obstacles and pressure that arrived with these major roles, Cavill explained his method of dealing with this challenge and bringing originality to the roles by stating,

“I think it’s just approach it honestly and have faith in yourself, that would be the key. and I think there’s a big pitfall of looking at everyone else’s work… you’ve got to remember it’s your work. And if you’re going to approach it from a place of self-confidence and I’m doing this and not to try and be different, but because that is how you interpret the material right, then I think it’s probably the best way of doing it”
