Mark Ruffalo was the only OG Avengers actor who did not get to lead a movie or series. However, that may not be the case for long. It appears that Hugh Jackman’s Marvel debut paves the way for one of the thrilling action plots in Marvel Comics to be brought to the big screen. The Wolverine first appeared on the last page of The Incredible Hulk #180 and later made a full appearance in edition #181.

Scooper, @MyTimeToShineH, recently shared on X that the Marvel Studios was currently developing a Wolverine vs Hulk movie. If the scooper is telling the truth, it would be Ruffalo’s chance to shine in the lead role in a Marvel project, as he remains the only OG Avenger without a solo film/series. Fans found it hard to believe but still showed excitement for such a team-up to happen.

Many fans in the comments hoped that the scoop was true, with one mentioning how people would pay good money to see the Wolverine vs Hulk movie. Fans also speculated that if true, the announcement of the movie will be made at the San Diego Comic-Con. Some of the fan reactions read:

As for a director for this potential project, it would be great if Marvel could retain Shawn Levy for this project. Besides his friendship with Jackman, he has also collaborated with Ruffalo on three projects, All the Light We Cannot See, Date Night, and The Adam Project.

During a 2020 interview with Sirius XM, Hugh Jackman talked about going against Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. The conversation came up because they were both competing for the Outstanding Lead Actor Emmy in a Limited Series, which Ruffalo won. He shared during the interview that he would easily beat the Hulk in a fight.

Jackman also shared the comic history of how his character made his first appearance in The Incredible Hulk and went on to become one of the X-Men. Jackman shared with Sirius XM (via ComicBook):

Mark’s a very good friend of mine and I actually haven’t spoken to him about it. He’s absolutely astonishing in the show. I mean I think he is one of the best actors, certainly of our generation…. But Wolverine would beat him for sure let’s just be very clear…. I don’t know if you know this but The Wolverine actually appeared first in a Hulk comic.

He was like a last page, some guy coming so it was The Hulk series he appeared so that’s sort of where that feud came from and then Wolverine sort of took on this whole life so I’m sure The Hulk is very jealous.

During his appearance on The Marvelists podcast, Ruffalo shared that he had heard about the Wolverine and Hulk talks. He shared that he loved Jackman and added that it “would be cool to do something with him, if he’s up to doing it.” Fans are hoping that both actors come together for this movie.
