DC Comics has been one of the trailblazers when it comes to the comic-book industry, with two of the top 3 best-selling comics being published by DC. But when it comes to the entertainment industry, DC’s venture has been confusing, to put it mildly. From mismanagement issues to literal role swaps between characters and straight-up new timelines emerging from nowhere to contribute nothing to the expansion of the DCEU. Seeing all this rollout has put a lot of questions into the minds of fans about what the future might hold for this unbalanced universe of DC Superheroes.

Wonder Woman 3 Might Bring Back The Holy Trinity Of DC Comics

Mikey Sutton, who is the owner of Geekosity, the very popular news website for all things pop and geek culture, recently put out an article that underlined the state of the DCEU and how hard its been hitting the bottom of the cinematic universes in terms of the management of projects, or rather, the mismanagement of it. But as time went by, Sutton got a very spicy scoop about the upcoming Wonder Woman 3, which holds the news of a potential return of DC’s holy trinity of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, and Ben Affleck as Batman.

According to Sutton’s report, Warner Bros. Discovery has shifted gears and focus of the DCEU moving forward. After the change in the management of DC Films, it looks like the focus would be the “Trinity’ storyline from the pages of DC comics. “According to sources, Warner Bros. Discovery wants an epic adventure that unites Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck’s Batman, and Henry Cavill’s Superman,” said the report.

The “Trinity” storyline was one of the centerpieces of the DC Comics universe which was made by Kurt Busiek. It was the start of the new age in DC comics, which was aptly named “DC Universe Rebirth.” This can be one of the next big steps that the new management of Peter Safran and James Gunn might take to rebuild the DC Extended Universe from the ground up. We have seen Gunn make some of the biggest hits in the MCU when he worked for Marvel Studios, and also with DC Films’ The Suicide Squad, so Gunn knows what to do to bring the dwindling universe back on track.

With Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck confirmed to reprise their roles as Superman and Batman respectively, it’s a very strong possibility that we could see DC’s Holy Trinity in action very soon.
