Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph is an enjoyable and visually-appealing animated movie that became a commercial success. The story follows a villain character from a video game, Ralph, who proved that he is not a really evil guy after all. No one wants to be his friend because of his reputation until he meets Vanellope, a glitch from a race car video game.

The two embarks on a fun and challenging journey inside the world of gaming arcade. Wreck-It Ralph has a lot of characters that are equally as interesting and adorable as these two.

Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun is one tough badass soldier from an old-school fighting game, Hero’s Duty. She comes from an action video game that explains her costume, weapons, and devil-may-care attitude. Her main attributes are loyalty and courage.

While Sergeant Calhoun looks rough on the outside, she seems to have a soft heart for Fix-It Felix Jr. They met in her own game when Felix Jr. came to save Ralph. Both had a mutual connection, and by the end of the movie, they were already together!

He is the protagonist in his own video game. Everybody likes Felix Jr. because he “fixes” everything while Ralph “wrecks” everything. Despite so, Felix Jr. seems to be the only one who realizes Ralph is not a bad guy.

This is why when Ralph suddenly went missing, he went to find and save him. Felix Jr. risked his life in the Hero’s Duty game, where he met Sergeant Calhoun. He is someone Ralph can rely on even up to the second film.

Shank

Shank was introduced in the second movie as a dangerous leather-clad car racer. In her game Slaughter Race, the losers get destroyed. This explains the violent nature of the game in contrast with Vanellope’s Sugar Rush game.

She may look cold and reserved yet Shank is very professional and collected. Shank became good friends with Vanellope and even gave her a piece of advice on how to win the game.

Vanellope von Schweetz

Vanellope started out as a bratty, annoying, and noisy character. She uses a lot of sarcasm and gets upset when she is not treated the way she expects. More often than not, she’s misunderstood as any of the characters. When she found friendship in Ralph, she finally let her true self out.

It was a struggle for her to find her purpose in the movie. Given her role as a glitch, she is often loathed and scorned. Towards the end of the sequel, Vanellope realizes she is worth more than a glitch in the game.

Ralph is absolutely the most likable character and is the nicest of the bunch. He plays a villain in his game but that is just him doing his job. In fact, he feels bad that he “wrecks” things. He just wants to have friends and be happy.

His friendship with Vanellope made him realize a lot of things. They grew together throughout the two films. It’s comforting to know that finally, they both found real friendships that accept them for who they are.
