The tension between The Rock and Triple H went off at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff press event in Las Vegas after the wrestler-turned-actor slapped Cody Rhodes for mentioning the Anoa’i family.
The Rampage star demanded Triple H to fix the problem since he serves as the chief content officer and head of creative of WWE. Prior to that, the famed wrestler was the Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development.
Triple H Versus The Rock Might Not Happen Anymore
Following the chaotic turn of events that occurred at WrestleMania 40, fans are clearly expecting Dwayne Johnson to go toe-to-toe with Triple H after their tense encounter backstage. However, it seems very unlikely that the latter will get out of retirement due to health concerns.
In 2021, Triple H suffered a cardiac arrest that forced him to officially retire from wrestling. During his 2022 interview with ESPN’s First Take via Forbes, he talked about how bad his illness has gotten.
“By the time I got to the emergency room, my ejection fraction had gone down to 22, which, I was in heart failure. Bad. By the next morning—as they figured that out that evening – by the next morning as they got the MRI done and they were sending me in for a heart cath my ejection fraction was down to 12.”
During that tragic event, he almost believed that he was going to die, which made him decide to finally file for retirement. When asked if he would ever enter the ring again, he responded:
“I won’t—I would never wrestle again. First, I have a defibrillator in my chest. Which, it’s probably not a good idea for me to get zapped on live TV.”
Triple H was thankful for all the fans who expressed support for him throughout his trying times. He wrote in a tweet:
“I’ve been blown away by the outreach and support from so many people. I’m recovering, doing well, & deeply grateful for all the love in my life. Especially grateful for Shawn Michaels & all the Superstars & crew at WWE NXT.”
It seems very unlikely now that The Rock and Triple H, one of the biggest rivalries in the wrestling world, would match again inside the ring despite the crowd’s demand due to the latter’s health condition.
What Exactly Did The Rock Say To Triple H?
While Triple H was being interviewed backstage and giving comments on the latest events that transpired, Dwayne Johnson walked in and demanded the creative head to do something about the issue. The Rock apparently said via WWE:
“It’s not out of line, have him talk about it. If you don’t fix it, we will. Have him talk s—t about our family again, I’ll slap his f—king teeth out of his mouth.”
Triple H and the reporter were too stunned to speak when The Rock left. After the event, it has been confirmed that Cody Rhodes will fight Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania XL.
