The rumor that Knobbs beat up Damon was confirmed as being true by Booker T, and not simply a legend. He claimed that his brother, Stevie Ray, was there as a witness to the altercation, though he could not recall where exactly it happened of the incident.

In an episode of his Hall of Fame radio show, Booker T decided to speak about a longstanding rumor involving Matt Damon and Brian Knobbs. As unexpected as it may seem, Booker T stole the chance to talk about it.

Booker T claimed that Damon and Knobbs got into a physical brawl in a pub. Damon was not well known at the time and was probably still quite young, which could have played a role in the incident.

“Knobbs beat him up, that’s a true story, that’s not a legend. Somewhere, I can’t remember where it was … look, I don’t know exactly what happened, but my brother was there. Knobs beat up Matt Damon in a bar. The thing is, they probably didn’t know who Matt Damon was because he was young at the time.”

Even though Booker T stated that he often avoids sharing stories about incidents in which he wasn’t present, in this particular case, he got first-hand information from his brother.
