X-Men ’97 is ready to grace the arcade cabinets of Arcade1Up in an exciting tie-in with Marvel. Fans of X-Men have much to look forward to as the Disney+ revival of the franchise is well underway.

X-Men ’97 is a revival of X-Men: The Animated Series that aired from 1992-1997. The events of the upcoming series will be based on the events after the death of the leader of the X-Men, Professor X. The series is under production by Marvel and is likely to hit studios sometime in 2024.

While fans wait for the series to drop, Marvel has collaborated with Arcade1Up to launch their brand new arcade machine, which premiered on February 27, 2024 at Disney’s Epcot.

With the animated series yet to hit TV screens, Marvel has announced another exciting venture to keep X-Men fans hooked. Partnering with Arcade1Up, a new arcade cabinet has been created and takes a great deal of inspiration from the franchise. The X-Men ’97 arcade cabinet is set to feature 8 pre-loaded titles that are unique to Arcade1Up machines.

Pulling no stops in the release of the cabinet, Arcade1Up and worked directly with Disney to ensure that the arcade cabinet could be released in the packed halls of Epcot. The event was an exclusive, invite-only unveiling, with details being released when it concluded. We now know that the arcade cabinets will feature:

Panel displays, a light up marquee, 17 inch BOE Colour Monitor, 2-player control deck, 3-D faux coin doors, and Wi-Fi functionality, with online leaderboards that will allow players to compete with others and ultimately come out on top.

The arcade cabinet in itself boasts some spectacular features in addition to the stock characteristics of Arcade1Up machines, which will ensure that players get the authentic, nostalgic, retro feel right in the comfort of their own homes.

The cabinet can now be pre-ordered, and the machines will ship to buyers the week of 4/25.

Created by Beau DeMayo and produced by Marvel Studios Animation, X-Men ’97 shows the team coping with the death of their beloved leader Professor X. Apart from the original group of mutants including Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Beast, Rogue, Jean Grey, and Nightcrawler, fans can expect appearances from Cable, Bishop, Sunspot, Forge, Magneto, and many more.
