The wholesome text Hollywood star James Marsden received from his mother is going viral. Known for his roles in X-Men and Sonic the Hedgehog movies, the actor recently starred in the mockumentary sitcom Jury Duty. The show follows a cast as a fake jury, with a non-actor Richard Gladden, believing that the whole experience is real.
Marsden, who played a heightened version of himself, has earned several nominations for his performance on the show, including a Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nomination. Despite losing the Golden Globe to the Succession actor, the highlight of Marsden’s day was a touching message from his mother.
James Marsden Received a Loving Message From His Mother
James Marsden, one of the nominees for Best Supporting Actor – Television at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards for Jury Duty, shared a heartwarming message from his mother on his Instagram stories. In the text, his mother expressed her pride and joy upon seeing her son among the nominees, saying,
“My favorite moment of tonight was when they had your picture up with the other 5 nominees. Just like I’ve seen all my life of different nominee pics all together like that. And I [am] saying to myself — my son is one of the 6 chosen and there he is up on the tv screen next to the other nominees. MY son did that. I can’t quit smiling.”
Marsden shared the screenshot of her text on his Instagram stories with a caption that said, “My mom, I love you,” accompanied by a red heart emoji. Despite losing the Golden Globe to Succession star Matthew Macfadyen, the 50-year-old actor graciously acknowledged the support from his mother.
Other nominees under the category included Billy Crudup, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Alan Ruck, and Alexander Skarsgård. Marsden’s outstanding performance in the Amazon Freevee mockumentary has also earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination.

James Marsden Got His First Emmy Nomination For Jury Duty
