“Common discrepancy is still bothersome for me. It doesn’t matter how much I do, I’m still not going to get paid as much as that guy, because of my vag*na?”

The actress also revealed that in the 2013 movie American Hustle, she was paid 1.5 million dollars for the shooting of 19 days while her fellow co-star Christian Bale was paid 2.5 million dollars for the shooting of 46 days.

Back when Sony was hacked, the E-mails were reportedly leaked on the internet. That was when the Passengers actress found out about the gender pay discrepancy that she faced. In an interview, Jennifer Lawrence had some controversial opinions to say:

“It’s hard for me to speak about my experience as a working woman because I can safely say my problems aren’t exactly relatable. When the Sony hack happened and I found out how much less I was being paid than the lucky people with d**ks, I didn’t get mad at Sony. I got mad at myself.

She further continued,

“I failed as a negotiator because I gave up early. I didn’t want to keep fighting over millions of dollars that, frankly, due to two franchises, I don’t need. (I told you it wasn’t relatable, don’t hate me).”

The 32-year-old actress is now tired of all the fighting she has to do for equal pay in the Hollywood industry. She further stated that she doesn’t like to fight for her rights (as she rightly shouldn’t have to) and she would not like to be “spoiled” like some of her fellow male co-stars.

Jennifer Lawrence is a beloved actress and revered by millions. The actress will be seen later in an Apple Original Film produced by A24 studios titled Causeway which will release sometime later this year. Don’t Look Up is currently available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
