In the casting process for Matt Reeves’s 2022 film The Batman, Nicholas Hoult found himself in the running for the coveted role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Alongside fellow British actor Robert Pattinson, Hoult participated in screen tests while donning the iconic Batman costume. Reports suggest that both actors had deals in place, awaiting the final contingency to determine the casting outcome. Ultimately, Robert Pattinson landed the role, donning Batman’s cape.

“I’m sure if you ask most people, they’ll tell you they’d want to portray that role. I think Matt Reeves’ ideas were fantastic and he made a brilliant movie.”
