The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been a huge success, spellbinding audiences worldwide with the creation of a vast universe of interconnected superhero stories. However, given Disney’s acquisition of Fox and the X-Men characters’ inclusion in the MCU, fans doubted the franchise’s survival. Well, when two beloved X-Men stars, Kelsey Grammer and Hugh Jackman, emerged as the driving force behind Marvel’s upcoming phases, all doubts were dispelled. Their presence in the MCU films has single-handedly restored fans’ faith in the Marvel Universe’s future.
Grammer made his Marvel debut as Dr. Hank McCoy / Beast in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand. Recently, his Beast appeared in the post-credit scene of The Marvels. Meanwhile, fans have not given up hope on Jackman’s comeback, even though he was last seen in a Wolverine role in 2017’s Logan. Fortunately, he will be returning to his Wolverine role in the upcoming MCU film, Deadpool 3.
Hugh Jackman and Kelsey Grammer Alone Have Restored Fans’ Faith in Marvel’s Future Phases
Kelsey Grammer‘s version of Dr. Henry ‘Hank’ McCoy, a.k.a. Beast, made his MCU cameo this year with The Marvel after appearing in two X-Men films since 2006. As a result, fans (per X) can rest easy knowing that the MCU is in capable hands. They also hope that Grammer will consider returning to the role for upcoming MCU phases.
After having brought the legendary mutant to life for nearly two decades, Hugh Jackman‘s portrayal of Wolverine is legendary. And now, in Deadpool 3, which is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and stars Ryan Reynolds, Jackman will reprise his X-Men role as Wolverine. Fans also assumed another illustration depicting how 2022 Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featured Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, another X-Men character.

The future of the X-Men in the MCU appears extremely promising, with Jackman and Grammer possibly reprising their respective roles as Wolverine and Beast. Fans poured their excitement into the following:
It just shows just because they look like the characters we remember doesn’t mean that they will be any good
Xavier got his neck snapped
Beast was just CGI
And Wolverine is in Deadpool 3 just to be made into a joke or just to have one fight scene with Deadpool— Captain Chaos (@Jonboy0312) November 20, 2023
I can’t wait for the wolverine/deadpool movie.

Yeah but no marvel movie is going to match the epic intro music of the original xmen cartoon. Even to this day when I hear it it gets my blood pumping like cocaine or something.

Fans are ecstatic and full of faith about their return because their roles in the first X-Men movies were so iconic. Marvel’s choice to incorporate their talents shows that they are dedicated to upholding the X-Men’s heritage while opening the door for exciting new experiences inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
How Soon Will X-Men Arrive in the MCU?
A report at Deadline states that Marvel Studios is prepared to meet with writers and receive pitches for the upcoming relaunch of the X-Men superhero team into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first meetings may take place in the upcoming weeks and may go into the New Year.
Arriving in May 2024, Deadpool 3 will be the first official standalone (confirmed) mutant movie within the MCU. Marvel is expected to generally reboot the X-Men once they fully cross over into the MCU, now that parent company Disney owns both studios.
Additionally, Deadpool 3 will feature a large number of X-Men characters that we have already seen in the MCU.
Will Deadpool 3 bring an end to the previous X-Men series before the reboot? Will certain characters and storylines be allowed to continue in case Marvel decides to revisit them for further crossover and multiverse events? Though most of this will take some time to become clear, fans appeared excited that the X-Men characters would finally make a permanent appearance in the MCU.
The Marvels is in theaters now, while X-Men: The Last Stand is streaming on Disney Plus.
