Xbox Game Pass houses a ton of different games from different genres that will accommodate different players with different preferences, and as a service, not all games are there to stay but there are a rare few occasions where specific games earn their place, and among them is Level-5’s Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered. Initially reported to leave the service, it is unknown what the cause was that undid it.

While this should give fans of the game more time to play it, perhaps the ones who never got to play it should also take the opportunity while they still can. Earlier reports could have indicated that their removal from Xbox Game Pass is imminent and could be soon. Maybe this could all be just a brief extension of their stay and might be leaving afterward.

Microsoft consistently updates its game library on Game Pass and specifies which games will be leaving and the titles that will take their place, fortunately in a last-minute decision, someone within may have fought for the game’s case and requested for an extension of sorts. While the franchise has been revered by many, not everyone can come to like the art style or gameplay.

The game has been out for almost 11 years and it was available on almost every previous generation console and has been remastered for the PS4 and Xbox One, and made available on PC later as well as a Nintendo Switch port. The accessibility options for players are vast and the developers are ensuring that fans can play the game on whatever platform they are on.

While certainly not alarming, there is a cause to worry about where the company could bring its subscription service in the long run. Perhaps developers of both indie titles and huge triple-A games are not seeing the same benefits as what they were promised and is no longer sustainable to stay onboard.

The gaming industry can be a cut-throat business and keeping them afloat is getting harder and harder than it ever did before. Maybe the delayed exit of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered from the service is a warning that more and more indie titles are leaving the service and will have significant ramifications in the future.

Microsoft is pioneering a digital age of gaming where players will no longer have to purchase or own a game to use it, they could simply subscribe to their service and boot the game from their consoles with ease.

Maybe on paper, it seemed like a very convenient idea for consumers but now the developers are reeling from income that they could have gained if they opted for a normal or traditional release for their games.
