The recent Xbox Games Showcase was amazing, according to the majority of fans that followed this long-anticipated event. With the announcement of a spectacular list of games that will be coming this year and in 2025.
Among these astonishing games were titles like Gears of War, Fable, Stalker 2, and many more. Microsoft used this presentation to introduce a new group of Xbox consoles with more capacity than ever before, but the rumors and the anticipation from Phil Spencer were not correct for this particular announcement.

Surprising all the fans by making an absolute and spectacular display, even Microsoft’s own Xbox Games Showcase, was a major win for the brand. The reveal of a vast and astounding list of games on the show was the most significant announcement. With iconic games like Doom and Fable or even titles like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, it was a complete success for all the players.
Previously, Phil Spencer had revealed that he would be introducing a new technological leap for the Xbox consoles, but the announcement did not align with the expectations of fans for this hardware.
This new console will feature more capacity than ever, but there are no other improvements to the hardware itself. This revelation is a minor detail amidst all the announcements of massive games.
The Xbox Showcase Was Probably Not the Place to Announce New Hardware

Microsoft unveiled three distinct consoles, primarily emphasizing an all-digital model. The event introduced the Xbox Series X and S all-digital versions, both with 1 TB of SSD.
The brand also anticipated a new Series X with 2 TB of SSD for the most active players, who are always playing several games at the same time. Players can already purchase these new models from selected retailers.
Apparently, Sony and Microsoft missed the opportunity to introduce the upgraded versions of their current consoles, such as the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, which belong to the previous generation.
There are not many larger showcases left, except for Ubisoft Forward, which will be live tomorrow, June 10, showing more gameplay of the new Assassin’s Creed Shadows, another title from this publisher.
