During the Xbox Developer Direct, we received our first glance at the new upcoming first-person RPG Avowed. Throughout this first glance, we received a small glimpse into the different combat opportunities that players will be able to take advantage of throughout their adventure in Avowed.
Since Avowed is set in a fantasy world, players will be able to take advantage of all kinds of different combat mechanics to give themselves an edge in battle. Whether you want to use magic, weapons, or even guns, there will always be an option for you to choose from and enjoy.
What Combat Mechanics Will Be Involved in Avowed During the Xbox Developer Direct?
Throughout the world of Avowed, players will be able to use all kinds of different weapons and powers to battle the many enemies within the world they inhabit. From the look of the combat that has been shown during the Xbox Developer Direct, this new method of combat could revolutionise first-person RPG combat if it works the way it is intended.
When playing Avowed, players will be given the choice to design their characters combat capabilities in any way they want, whether they want to rush their opponents with a sword and shield, dealing devastating damage. Or they could use magic and guns to deal with their enemies from range while also halting their enemies in their tracks.
No matter how you want to play Avowed, it looks like there will be a combat mechanic fit for you. As an added bonus, players aren’t confined to just using one loadout within Avowed, as you will be able to have multiple weapons assigned to your characters at once and swap between them at a sudden notice to be able to fight your way out of any situation the game puts in front of you.
At the moment, the gameplay still looks rather unfinished during the Xbox Developer Direct, and there are most likely more options to come in the future of the game, but from what we can see, there will be a spell and weapon for every opportunity, and they can easily blend together as players will be able to dual-wield weapons.
This means that if a player would like to combine their skills with magic and their love for a good sword, then they will be able to combine these two weapons. By doing this, players will be able to use spells to freeze, lock, or just kill their enemies from range, while also using a sword to defeat their enemies that are close by and are more of a threat.
So far, there isn’t much more information regarding the combat mechanics in Avowed, but if the development team continues with the progress they have already completed, then this could be quite a unique experience for the Xbox community to enjoy.
