XDefiant, the free-to-play first-person shooter title from Ubisoft, was launched on May 21, and the so-called “Call of Duty killer” hasn’t had a great reception so far. The game is inspired by several other online shooters, but it has been said that it doesn’t bring anything new or different.

Despite all this, the game has still garnered a community, and that too very quickly. However, to maintain the momentum, it needs to fix things with the next patch, as players are complaining about the recurring issue in almost every match, and they are not going to stick for long if this persists.

XDefiant has faced several issues ever since its launch that have caused players problems playing the game, but it still managed to garner a large community. The game hit 1 million unique users in just two and a half hours of release and recorded a peak of more than half a million concurrent players on the launch day itself.

The game became the fastest-ever title from Ubisoft to reach one million unique players in such a short time. However, the success might be short-lived as players are getting sick of the issues they are encountering in the game, and the biggest of them is the netcode that players have said feels “awful.”

Players have shared countless posts and videos on social media and gaming forums about this. One player took to the XDefiant subreddit and said that they have been enjoying the game but are starting to get annoyed due to “how bad the netcode is.” They added that they are getting killed far around corners, and they were “behind cover for half a second or longer and still taking damage.”

It is apparently such a massive issue that players are doubting their own skills and have said that they are sometimes not able to see opponents they are shooting as they get around corners but still are sometimes able to take them out.

Almost Every XDefiant Player Is Facing This Issue

Ubisoft surely needs to patch it in the next update, and it needs to do it soon if the publisher wants the game to stay alive. A large number of XDefiant players have said that they too have been facing this problem and that it needs to be fixed, as it sometimes makes the game unplayable.

One player said that they too have died far around the corner several times and also gotten a hit marker numerous times.

Players have said that Ubisoft needs to do something about it, and even though it can be ignored when games go smoothly, “stacking the hit reg” brings it all back.

Some have even said that they have experienced this in almost every other match and that the game is “not working as intended.” Players think it should have been fixed during the beta itself, but it is not too late yet.
