While Ubisoft’s XDefiant might have managed to win over many FPS lovers, it, unfortunately, keeps committing the same mistakes that led to the downfall of other games in the genre, which failed to reach a successful phase.

A good rotation of different maps and modes with a few additions here and there keeps the players hooked for a long time, a formula that the game seems to be following well, but what good does that do if they ultimately hide crucial details from the players?

Gamers who have tried out Call of Duty before would know how one of the best team multiplayer settings is the Search and Destroy mode, where the player has to seek out and destroy their enemy’s objective kept safe in their base.

Following suit, Ubisoft has now announced in its recent debrief video how they will soon be adding the said mode to its recent FPS shooter in the coming season 1, calling it the ‘Bomb!’ mode. The only issue that remains is how the precise launch timings remained unannounced, leaving players puzzled.

The new season, which is slated to release tomorrow, i.e. 2nd July 2024, is going to bring with itself many new features and maps never seen before. The official patch notes also reveal that it brings with itself another game mode, called Capture the Flag, which remains different from the aforementioned Search and Destroy.

The game had been in sorts of an incubation period up until now, but that ends soon, as the studio is seemingly all geared up for the release of its first official season.

The highlight of the new update is the newly introduced faction, The GSK, identified as special operators from Germany who specialize in ‘crowd control and securing territory’. For the curious ones, developers have equipped the new characters with abilities such as electrified barbed wire and other similar mechanics that help the player seize total control of an area.

When it comes to the new maps, Ubisoft has introduced the Clubhouse map, scheduled to release with the launch tomorrow, with two more maps lined up in the back to be introduced later in the season.

XDefiant is also finally going to establish a ranked system for its players, even offering rewards to those who perform well. As expected, there will also be a new 90-tier battle pass that players can buy to unlock special cosmetics that are often only available for a limited period of time.
